New contract win: Tesco Pods

Off-site X-LAM cross-laminated pods, manufactured at the B & K Structures factory near Ripley, Derbyshire, have been specified for Tesco Brighton, in order to shorten installation time and provide an environmentally friendly and aesthetically pleasing solution.

Two free-standing pods were fully fitted out incorporating fixtures and services to enable fast installation within the main store area, when they arrived on site.

The smaller pod, for Tesco Direct, was transported in two sections whilst the larger pod incorporating a pharmacy, optician's, staff room and store was transported in five sections. The pods were craned into position and installed and operational within a day.
