Engineers Buro Happold working closely with B & K Structures' designers, have created a roof structure which consists of a series of glulam structural timber geodesic domes incorporating structural insulated panels, which resist their own self-weight plus the weight of the finishes and the other applied loads. In spite of the intersecting nature of these domes, they are modeled with a smooth seamless flow, so they resist loads together.

The use of structural timber for the project, worth over £3million to B & K Structures, provides an environmentally friendly and visually dramatic solution to the roof design.
